Lane Collison hasn’t been without a camera in hand for over 20 years. As an active member of the photography community, he is always exploring new imaging technologies and values professional development. He graduated from the NAIT photography program in 1990 and is a member of the Professional Photographers of Canada and of Wedding and Portrait Photographers International.

Lane specializes in weddings — he photographed his first happy couple in 1988 — but also works easily outside his area of expertise. As a tribute to the wide scope of his interest and talent, Lane was named the 2008 Alberta Photographer of the Year, Generalist, by the Professional Photographers of Canada.

Creating an enjoyable and relaxed atmosphere in his work is important to Lane. He ensures that clients have fun and feel comfortable in front of the camera, making photo shoots positive experiences that are just as memorable as the final images.

Of all the photographs Lane has taken over the years, his favorites are of his four beautiful children — Blaire, Mackenzie, Madeline, and Ben — who inspire him in life and work.
